Dr Richard Hogan is a systemically trained family psychotherapist and the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship. He is the clinical director of Therapy Institute.

He is the best-selling author of, ‘Parenting the Screenager’ and the Irish book award nominated ‘Home is Where the Start is’. Richard writes a weekly column for the Irish Examiner.

Richard is a regular contributor on RTE Radio 1, ‘The Brendan O’Connor show’, where he gives his progressive insights into human behaviour. He also contributes to Newstalk and on many other radio stations.

His practical, no nonsense, approach to mental health is a refreshing and very sought after voice in mental health. He has advised the Irish Government on mental health promotion in Ireland.

He is involved in many tv shows, such as; ‘Raised by the Village’, ‘Dinner with the Enemy’, ‘The Tonight Show’, ‘Ireland am’, ‘The Six O’ Clock Show’, ‘The Today Show’ and he is involved in the casting and welfare on the most successful tv show in Ireland’s history; ‘The Traitors Ireland’.

Richard’s podcast with Ciara Kelly, ‘They Mess you up’ is Irelands number 1 podcast.

He is currently working on his third book.

Richard is the founder of the charity, ‘Embrace Badjao’ helping to alleviate the extreme poverty Badjao children in the Philippines experience.  And he is an ambassador for  ‘Make a Wish Ireland’ and ‘Dyslexia Association of Ireland’.
