Bio
Barry Cummins is a bestselling author, documentary maker, journalist and broadcaster. His latest book – Buried Secrets – about the case of Tina Satchwell, who was murdered by her husband Richard, will be published by Gill in April 2026.
Barry previously wrote Missing (2003 and 2019); Lifers (2004); Unsolved (2007); Without Trace (2011); and Cold Cases (2012). Barry worked at RTÉ for 23 years, including 14 years with Prime Time, where he worked as Security Correspondent from 2019 until 2025. He also previously worked as Crime Correspondent with Today FM before joining RTÉ in 2003.
Barry helped set up National Missing Persons Day, and acted as host of the annual event from 2013 until 2022. A journalist for thirty years, Barry is a graduate of Dublin City University. A native of Tallaght, Barry now lives in Swords with his wife and two children.
