Bio

PJ Gallagher is one of Ireland’s most recognisable comedian, actor and broadcaster, known for his sharp wit, versatility, and ability to connect with audiences across television, radio, and live events. He is the co-host of Morning Glory with PJ & Jim on Radio NOVA.
PJ first came to national prominence with the hugely successful hidden-camera series Naked Camera, where his memorable characters helped establish him as a household name. It was then followed by its international spin-off,Makin’ Jake,cemented his reputation as one of Ireland’s most original performers. His later sketch series, Meet Your Neighbours, further showcased his comedic range.

A trusted and familiar media personality, PJ has appeared on The Late Late Show, Tubridy Tonight, The Miriam O’Callaghan Show, and presented RTÉ’s The Great Big Surprise Birthday Party. Additional screen credits include the RTÉ documentary Stage Fright and Channel 4’s hidden-camera series Trojan Donkey. On stage, he was a regular headliner at Vicar Street, the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, and Electric Picnic.

Having moved away from his career as a stand up comic, PJ is a respected mental health advocate, speaking openly and powerfully about his lived experience of depression and anxiety. His 2022 documentary, PJ Gallagher: Mad Man, offered a candid and impactful portrayal of his mental health crisis, hospitalisation, and recovery. He regularly delivers keynote talks,fireside chats, on mental health awareness, resilience, workplace wellbeing, and the importance of open conversation. He has performed keynote speeches with companies such as Deutsche Bank, Dole Ireland, Waterford Chamber Skillnet and Sisk.
