Emmet Kirwan
Bio
Emmet Kirwan is an award-winning actor, playwright, and poet from Tallaght, Dublin, known for bold, socially resonant storytelling across stage and screen. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin’s Samuel Beckett Centre, he is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most distinctive contemporary creative voices.
His play Dublin Oldschool won the Stewart Parker Major Trust Award and enjoyed multiple sold-out runs at the Project Arts Centre, plus an international tour including the National Theatre in London. He also wrote spoken-word poetry for THISISPOPBABY’s RIOT, performed internationally. His poem Heartbreak was adapted into an award-winning short film with over two million views. Other work includes BBC Radio 4’s Wild West, Queen of the Pyramids, and contributions to The Gate Theatre’s Late at the Gate series.
On screen, he wrote and starred in RTÉ2’s Sarah and Steve, and has written and developed several short films and theatre projects, including Straight to Video and The Last Partholonian. He is currently developing new poetry, the collaborative theatre project Accents with Talos, and a debut novel for HarperCollins.
