Bio

Aoife Dooley is an award-winning illustrator, author, comedian, and public speaker known for her unique bend of humour, creativity, and insight. She gained widespread recognition with her ‘Your One Nikita‘ series, which inspired two bestselling books (‘How To Be Massive’ and ‘How to Deal With Poxes’) and an animated TV series for RTÉ Player.

Aoife has performed at major festivals including Electric Picnic, Body & Soul,and then Vodafone Comedy Festival, and was named Best Comedian in U Magazine’s 30 Under 30 Awards. A regular panellist on ‘The Elaine Show’ (Virgin Media), she also speaks at high-profile events such as ‘Offset’ and ‘Zeminar’.

Diagnosed as autistic at 27, Aoife shares her experiences through talks and comics that have resonated deeply with audiences. Her graphic novel ‘Frankie’s World’, inspired by her own journey, received widespread acclaim and was honoured with ‘The Week Junior’s Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year’ and the ‘2023 Our Best Book Award’. Its sequel ‘Finding My Voice’, was published in 2023, continuing Frankie’s story with warmth, humour, and authenticity.

Aoife’s latest book, ‘Squid Squad:Nothing to Sea Here’, follows two quirky underwater characters on imaginative mini-adventures. She is currently travelling with Squid Squad on the book festival circuit, running lively illustration workshops. These fun, interactive sessions include storytelling, drawing demonstrations, and guided activities where kids can create their own characters.
